Les articles peuvent \u00eatre au singulier ou au pluriel.
\nMontrez-moi la personne que vous connaissez. Singulier
\nMontrez-moi les personnes que vous connaissez. Pluriel<\/p>\n

Articles can be singular or plural.
\nShow me the person you know. Singular
\nShow me the people you know. Plural<\/span><\/p>\n

On a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les articles d\u00e9finis:
\nLE – masculin singulier
\nLA – f\u00e9minin singulier
\nL\u2019 – devant un nom masculin ou f\u00e9minin commen\u00e7ant par une voyelle
\nLES – pluriel masculin ou f\u00e9minin<\/p>\n

We have studied the definite articles:
\nLE – masculine singular
\nLA – feminine singular
\nL’ – before a male or female noun beginning with a vowel
\nLES – plural masculine or feminine<\/span><\/p>\n

Par exemple:
\nLe papa, c\u2019est un homme, masculin, on a utilis\u00e9 l\u2019article masculin d\u00e9fini,
\nLE.
\nLa maman, c\u2019est une femme, f\u00e9minin, on a utilis\u00e9 l\u2019article f\u00e9minin d\u00e9fini,
\nLA.
\nFor example:
\nDaddy is a man, male, the masculine definite article, LE is used. Mum is a woman, female, the feminine definite article, LA is used.<\/span><\/p>\n

L\u2019arbre, comme \u201carbre\u201d commence par la voyelle \u201ca\u201d il faut utiliser L\u2019.
\nL\u2019arbre (The tree), as “arbre” begins with the vowel “a”, use L’.<\/span><\/p>\n

Attention : Quand un nom commence par un H et est suivi d\u2019une
\nvoyelle, on utilisera quand m\u00eame L\u2019.
\nEx : L\u2019horloge, commence par un H et comme la lettre suivante est la
\nvoyelle \u201cO\u201d, on utilise L\u2019.<\/p>\n

Caution: When a noun begins with H and is followed by a vowel, we will
\nuse L’.
\nEx : L\u2019horloge (The clock) starts with H and as the next letter is the vowel “O”, we use L’.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les amis = beaucoup d\u2019amis, masculin pluriel. En fran\u00e7ais, LES, s\u2019utilisepour le f\u00e9minin pluriel et le masculin pluriel. Les amis et les amies.<\/p>\n

Les amis = many friends, masculine plural. In French, LES is used for
\nthe feminine plural and the masculine plural. Les amis and les amies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important pour l\u2019accord de LES :
\nSi LES fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 des personnes, des objets ou des animaux
\nmasculins et f\u00e9minins dans la m\u00eame phrase, on doit accorder au
\nmasculin.<\/p>\n

Important for the agreement of LES :
\nIf LES refers to male and female persons, objects or animals in the same sentence, it should be awarded to masculine gender.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ex : J\u2019ai un fr\u00e8re (masculin) et une s\u0153ur (f\u00e9minin). Ils sont parfaits.
\nParfaits est accord\u00e9 au masculin pluriel car le masculin l\u2019emporte.
\nS\u2019il n\u2019y avait que des s\u0153urs dans la phrase on dirait : Elles sont
\nparfaites.<\/p>\n

Ex: I have a brother (male) and a sister (female). They are perfect
\n(parfaits).
\nPerfect (Parfait) is given in the masculine plural because the masculine
\ntakes precedence.
\nIf there were only sisters in the sentence we would say: They are perfect
\n(parfaites).<\/span>
\n<\/br><\/p>\n
